Consitency yields results (who knew?)
Greetings, all!
It is officially fall, now, and the weather seems to be falling in line. I’ve had to wear hoodie for two days in a row, now, to drop off my daughter at school and head to the coffee shop to write.
I’m pretty proud of myself. I’ve been very consistent with my writing since we last talked, and I am excited to say that the first draft of Into the Tricksy Wood is almost complete! Hopefully editing will start in the next couple weeks

If you have ever wondered about how a novel changes from first draft to finished product, I can offer you a cool opportunity to look behind the scenes! Follow my private community for free, The Story Lair, to get updates and behind the scenes looks at my process as a writer, as well as cover reveals and a chance to read the first draft, first 3 chapters of both of the novels I’m currently working on.
Subscribe to get access to all first draft chapters, as well as monthly short stories in both fantasy worlds (One is the Steampunk world of Aethos, one is the Fantasy world of Daragon). There are other bonuses on the way, too, like travel guides to explore these fantastical worlds. You can check it out below!

It’s getting real…
In other news, I have gone ahead and started working on the official cover for Into the Tricksy Wood. I am so excited to get this cover made! It is my first time actually hiring a professional to do covers for me, but I found a great designer and I know it’s going to rock. I will be doing a cover reveal in The Story Lair when it is ready. I’ll let you know when that is happening once I know.
Tis the season for Steampunk Witches and pumpkin lattes
This month’s writing playlist is one I just discovered today, but it’s too good not to share. Now that we are in the season pumpkin spice lattes and apple crisp, I am feeling witchy and Halloween-y, so the music has to hit that note, too!
And while I am rather sick of so many Steampunk women being depicted with huge boob hanging out of their corsets, (Seriously! How can you go on an adventure if you are always afraid the girls are going to jump out of your shirt?) I will admit I love the artwork that accompanies this playlist. The only downside is how short this one is. Just put it on repeat!
Cheers!
